Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary

Monkeyland is the worlds first free roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary, and is the only primate sanctuary with Fair Trade Tourism in South Africa. All of the primates in the Special Monkey Home are there due to their quirks, disabilities and/or old age. Some have poor eye-sight, others have had limbs amputated and some are well, just old and grumpy (or crazy).

Monkeyland and it's incredible staff have a mission that, as a guest leaves their special place, they depart with a greater understanding of the World's wildlife and the threats they face everyday. One of our main goals is to educate the public about the adverse effects of keeping wild animals as pets, in terms of both physical and psychological health.

Take a walk on their 128m canopy while you enjoy the day spent at Monkeyland - it is a great opportunity to take photos! They also offer an onsite restaurant that offers guests a variety of snacks and meals, as well as a slice of cake to top off the experience. There is a souvenir store, and viewing deck for guests to take home memorabilia and photos of their experience.
